I recently worked on a project with Schmit Prototypes involving elements of mechanical design as well as 3D prototyping which far surpassed all of my expectations. I had an initial concept for a consumer product that I brought to them which required elements of artistry in combination with mechanical viability. Not having much background myself in either, I was only able to provide them with my own hand-drawn sketches of what I was looking for, and Schmit Prototypes quite literally helped me bring the idea to life in only a matter of weeks.

Bryn was the first person I spoke to at the company from a Sales/Project Management perspective. Throughout the entire process he was very upfront and honest with managing expectations and keeping end manufacturing goals in mind, and he was a welcome source of advice along the way for such a novice entrepreneur.

Following discussions with him, I worked with Thomas to create the designs, and I am so grateful to have been able to share in his talents. He displayed an unbelievable amount of patience even as I asked dozens of questions and requested numerous technical changes at a time. I also felt that he was truly committed to the project and took a tremendous amount of pride in his work, all of which is evident in our end result. Our prototype, in addition to being mechanically sound, is an aesthetically beautiful creation even beyond what I had originally imagined.

After this experience I would wholeheartedly recommend Schmit Prototypes to anyone in need of design or manufacturing services by honest people at a very fair price. A big thank you again to Bryn and Thomas, and looking forward to working with you again soon!

Turning a dream into reality is no easy task! It calls for many unique skills and a real desire to go far beyond what others do. I was looking for a single source who had the technical skills and abilities I needed to take my idea from initial concept all they way to production. I found vendors who could do one thing well but were unable to go beyond their area of expertise. After a long search I found Schmit Prototypes as the company that was able to provide what I was looking for.

I came to them with an initial concept of a new type of hand held clay target thrower for the sporting goods market. They were able to provide the experience and skills to take a new idea from idea to reality all in one location. I was very impressed with their abilities in design, prototyping, testing, tooling and production. They were fantastic to work with and helped me each step of the way. They made sure each process flowed smoothly into the next. Schmit Prototypes helped me develop a product that not only looked great but one that could be produced in the real world.

In dealing with other vendors I received second-class service. I was a small inventor and not given the same amount of attention and service as their larger accounts. I can truly say the team at Schmit Prototypes provided outstanding service from day one on my project. They showed a sincere interest in my project from the beginning and that same level of service and dedication carried though until the project was complete.

It has been a great experience working with a dedicated technical team who knows what it is doing at each stage of a process. Schmit Prototypes have given me great advice and service, which has allowed me to make my dream a reality. I highly recommend Schmit Prototypes to my peers and would recommend them to anyone with a project that needs to be on time and on budget!

Axya Medical, Inc. develops surgical instruments and hardware for minimally-invasive procedures. In this industry, you and your competitors are developing competing devices simultaneously. It is critical to get your ideas in the hands of the customer, functioning as expected. Schmit Prototypes has helped me do just that.

While developing a flagship product for Axya, I had three competing device concepts which I wanted to present to my Advisory Board, and only two weeks to prepare. Schmit’s turn around was so quick, I was holding parts in less than two days after I conceived them in SolidWorks CAD. I was able to push through each of the concepts’ weak points, and deliver three functional prototypes for review. The result was of this feedback has made a critical difference in the delivery schedule of my product to our customers.

Schmit Prototype’s team have always provided rapid response to quote requests; have been willing to squeeze in build jobs; and shown flexibility when parts didn’t turn out the way either of us planned. They have been a key member on my development team, and helping Axya to communicate our ideas to our customers.

I’m writing to express my appreciation for the excellent service we continue to receive from you and your organization.

I understand that in the case of the most recent order, you worked considerable hours through the weekend to meet our timelines. I want to emphasize how much we appreciate this kind of service.

At 3M, we take pride in being recognized as a quality organization. It would be difficult for us to maintain that image without a quality vendor such as you.

Thank you for your contribution to our success.

Last week a large number of Zibites stood in amazement before what we unanimously recognized as a monumental accomplishment…and evidence of extraordinary teamwork! ZIBA Design is highly impressed with Schmit Prototypes and their contribution to the success of this program. Many thanks to you, your exceptional project managers, and all of your staff…we know this program affected each and all of the Schmit team as it did ours.

I’m sure you appreciate our reservations at the project’s outset. We were looking for a partner to jump with us into somewhat uncertain waters. You convinced us of your capability and your professional commitment to going the distance…and you delivered as promised.

On behalf of all of ZIBA, many, many thanks,

    • Regards,

I thought I’d pass along some good news. The prototype device that your company made parts for performed very well at our clients’ medical show. There were no problems at all!

I’d like to personally thank you and the people at your company who filled our order. You made dimensionally accurate, aesthetically pleasing parts on time and reasonably priced. And that’s no small accomplishment. Your efforts contributed significantly to a successful outcome with our client-who, as a result, has informed us of several additional projects they would like us to work on. Please pass my compliments along to the people involved.

The injection mold market has seen a huge interest in molding with aluminum lately. The interest is generated from the savings in the molds and more importantly from the savings in the piece part cost due to the 20 to 40% decrease in cycle time. There is much to be learned when it comes to using aluminum for tooling but it can be accomplished.

Schmit Prototypes has been a company that has had the innovation and knowledge to accomplish what many are trying to achieve in the current business climate. They have done things with aluminum tooling that many say can’t be done. I feel that their knowledge of the benefits of aluminum for tooling will help them not only in this depressed market but as the plastics industry moves forward in the next decade.

As a new “recession-driven” entrepreneur, it was difficult for me to get other vendors to take my “Bedtime Buddy” children’s product idea seriously. Although it was a challenge to describe what I wanted, Schmit’s project team embraced my idea and was able to design and create exactly what I had in my head. I was nervous about the end result, but was thrilled when I opened the carton. I unwrapped a professional looking prototype that I can use to impress my potential business partners, retailers and customers. With Schmit’s assistance and fantastic end product, it will be easy to sell my vision and product to others.
