The injection mold market has seen a huge interest in molding with aluminum lately. The interest is generated from the savings in the molds and more importantly from the savings in the piece part cost due to the 20 to 40% decrease in cycle time. There is much to be learned when it comes to using aluminum for tooling but it can be accomplished.
